The project promoted scientific cooperation by strengthening bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway. In this project, two entities were involved: Agrovyzkum Rapotin Ltd. (Promoter) and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (Partner). The project included one short-term visit (23rd April – 2nd May 2019) of the Czech research team to the research workplace at IHA at The NMBU in the Kingdom of Norway.
The bilateral cooperation between both partners especially consisted of the measurement of methane emission from cows, to exchange knowledge, to verify and put in practice as well. In addition, understanding how the rumen microbial population reacts to dietary manipulation were also studied and discussed. IHA has more than 100 years of experience in research and education within animal science and during recent years, IHA has gained knowledge and experience in measuring of methane in cows using the SF6 technique.
